Technology has its limits but the Skydio2 might still be the drone for you. After years of flying the DJI Mavic I looked forward to getting a truly autonomous drone for shooting teaching and action videos on my adventure motorcycle. The Skydio2 has some incredible capability but has also had several catastrophic crashes sending me back to the DJI while I wait for the drone to be repaired. One thing not mentioned in the video review is the record braking slow responses to my inquires for help or repairs. If I did not have the drone in hand I would have questions the legitimacy of the company. However when you are able to contact someone they are helpful and knowledgeable. I get the feeling they are a relatively small company that is growing faster than their staffing can handle. wait times to get the drone range from 3-6 months and you are likely to receive your drone or accessories at different times. For me I needed the beacon to make the drone work for me so I waited 3 months for my drone and another month for my beacon. Then the drone crashed while landing on the first day so I waited 2 more weeks for new props. Then it crashed when it landed on its own requiring me to send it back so I waited another 3 weeks. I flew it two more times before it ran into a tree in an 88acre field in another catastrophic crash. Current status is I am waiting to hear how much it will cost and how long before I get it back.
